The tea ceremony is held throughout the year, tailored to nature and the changing seasons.

It varies according to the season, from the kuchikiri tea in the early winter when new tea is served for the first time to the nagori tea served with a hint of sadness in late autumn.
It is performed according to the time of day, from dawn and morning tea to noon and evening tea.
Tea ceremonies with special hospitality are also performed at times such as the New Year, Doll Festival, and other seasonal events and celebrations.
